We were just tipped off during our weekly editorial meeting to the fact that New York Governor Eliot Spitzer has reportedly been linked to a prostitution ring. He's about to make a statement, and we'll bring updates when he does. But if Spitzer resigns (pure speculation at this point), the next governor would be lieutenant governor David Paterson. Paterson, who is legally blind, is currently the highest-ranking black elected official in the history of New York State.
