Marty Peretz, along with a handful of associated investors, will be buying The New Republic back from the now-bankrupt CanWest. I think I'm supposed to lay down some snark here, but eh: Marty will be Marty, and I'm glad that TNR will survive. Peretz and his young familiar don't nearly outweigh the good work that the writers of the Treatment, the Stash, the Vine, and other oddly named blogs produce.
