Saw They Came Back last night, an interesting, if poorly done, French film about what would happen if the dead returned -- physically unharmed, but somewhat apathetic and emotionally monotone. It's testament to my particular obsessions that I would've happily cut the personalized subplots about lovers and families reuniting for more time in the government conference rooms where the situation's similarities to a refugee crisis, and the effects of the half-risen on wage earners, productivity levels, and welfare state sustainability were discussed. I want to see bureaucracy in motion, dammit!
