The hall -- a massive domed building that looks like the inside of a flying saucer -- is currently being rocked by Obama chanters. For what it's worth, neither Dennis Kucinich, Hillary Clinton, nor Bill Richardson had a pre-speech chant presence (Edwards hasn't gone yet). That either speaks to more genuine enthusiasm for Obama, or suggests that he has better on-the-ground organization here at the dinner. Or possibly both. On a slightly more trivial note, the chant isn't "Obama," it's "Fired up? Ready to go!" It took about five minutes for me to figure out what was being yelled, and my hunch is that that choice of chant, less intuitive than "Obama," means Obama's got organizers on the ground here. Also, he's got a lot of signs.
