Dana argues that Hillary Clinton should run for governor of New York. She makes a compelling case that Clinton would be good at the job, but it's a bit hard to imagine that she'd want it. Though the New York governorship isn't term limited, it's not traditionally been the case that an individual will hold it for decades on end. Conversely, Clinton's seat in the Senate looks pretty safe. She could hold that position till the end times. Dana also recalls my old article urging Clinton to become majority leader for the Democrats. I always thought she'd be good at that position, but it no longer looks very likely, even as a consolation prize. Too many of the Senators who endorsed Obama would fear that Clinton has it out for them.
