Hillary Clinton, who just questioned Ambassador Crocker and Gen. Petraeus, looked and sounded truly exhausted. She used her moment in the spotlight today to outright state her support, several times, for a timetable for withdrawing the troops. She also criticized Crocker for his opposition to seeking Congressional approval for any future agreement the U.S. government might make with the Iraqi government to extend our military commitment there. "It seems odd to Americans who are being asked to commiit to an indefinite period of time...if the Iraqi Parliament may have a chance to consider this agreement, that the U.S. Congress is not. I currently have legislation requiring the Congress to submit to an agreement before it is signed," she said. --Dana Goldstein
