By the way, Ann Coulter's argument isn't only repulsive, it's stupid. American elections are decided by relatively minor margins. If only men voted, the swing necessary to create a Kerry victory would've been a bit over 5 percent. If only men voted, the Democrats would spend an enormous amount of money, time, and energy trying to attract that five percent. Where Coulter currently laments the giveaways to soccer moms, the goodies and porkie inducements would now go to dads. And a certain number would switch over. Political parties self correct to changing electoral circumstances, and if men became proportionately more important, proportionately more energy would go into courting them. Coulter's argument is an "all else being equal" argument, but all else is not equal, and professional political pundits should know that. --Ezra Klein
