From Matt Miller of the DSCC:
North Carolina Democratic Senate candidate Kay Hagan’s unanimous streak of newspaper endorsements finally came to an end today as Elizabeth Dole’s hometown newspaper, the Washington, D.C.-based Washington Times, became the first major newspaper to endorse her re-election. While Dole won the endorsement of the conservative Beltway publication, Hagan has been endorsed by every major North Carolina newspaper, including the Asheville Citizen-Times, Charlotte Observer, Durham Herald-Sun, Greensboro News and Record, Raleigh News & Observer, Spring Hope Enterprise, Wilmington Star-News, Wilson Times, Winston-Salem Chronicle, and the Winston-Salem Journal.Dole, it should be said, is from Salisbury, North Carolina. Indeed, her Wikipedia page boasts that "she still speaks with a noticeable Southern accent."
