EDWAMA SPLIT. An office straw poll confirms that yes, it appears Jeff Cohen, founder of media watchdog FAIR, has coined a new term: Edwama. In this AlterNet column Cohen accuses the netroots of being ignorant of the centrist compromises of Bill Clinton's presidency and cowed by party loyalty. They haven't united against Hillary, Cohen writes, because of the split in their ranks between support for Edwards and Obama. Cohen's solution is to unite the left behind one Howard Dean-like figure.
