People magazine gets the scoop:
Bottom line: the couple said they will not endorse either remaining candidate, saving their political capital for their own causes -- his, fighting poverty; hers, fighting for universal health care.
Worthy causes to fight for, but what are they "saving their political capital" for, exactly? John Edwards isn't likely to run for president again, and isn't outwardly angling for a role in a future Democratic administration. I hope he takes the Al Gore route and works independently to fight for the causes he's passionate about, but success in that capacity isn't dependent on cashing in chits. People isn't a politics periodical, so I'll let it slide this time.
