There isn't anything definitive to say so far about ballot initiatives, but here are some initial results:
- Marriage equality is fighting for its life in Florida. With 53 percent of precincts reporting, 62 percent of voters support a ban on gay marriage and domestic partnerships for all couples. A 60 percent majority is needed to pass a ballot amendment in Florida, though, so a big "no" push from south Florida counties, many of which haven't reported yet, could change things.
- With 21 percent of precincts reporting, South Dakota voters are 55 percent opposed to banning abortion except in cases of rape, incest, and risk to the mother's health or life.
- With 10 percent reporting, the pro-stem cell research initiative in Michigan is tied, 50-50.
Throughout the evening we will be providing updates on the races, counties, and demographic groups discussed in our election night guide.
