As long as we're on that subject, might I also add that questioning the value of certain bits of "homeland security" and associated hystaria is not something any nationally prominent Democrat can do safely. I'd seriously consider voting for the devil if he promised to get TSA employees to stop confiscating nail clippers and shampoo bottles and instead spent the money on cargo inspectors. Terrorism is a real threat, but at some point we need to take a step back and separate the preventative measures that are effective from those that are merely theatrical. Since grown-up Republicans are in short supply these days, it may fall to the libertarians to act as court jester and utter those things that the all nobility know, but no one is willing to say.
