The Economic Policy Institute has a snazzy new web site, and on their snazzy new web site is a depressing new snapshot detailing the rise in "involuntary" part-time workers:According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, "almost 90% of the increase during the past year was the result of employers reducing worker hours." These folks, incidentally, don't show up in the unemployment numbers. Technically, they're employed. But only technically. They're not working enough hours to support their families and they're generally not receiving health care or pension benefits. It's a bad scene.
