The idea that, at this juncture, the country would take advice from John Bolton and John Yoo is really weird. But that is, presumably, the template under which The New York Times is publishing op-eds co-bylined by a discredited hawk and a war criminal. It's genuinely hard to figure out how badly you'd have to fail at a senior government position in order for your future advice to be discredited, and lie unpublished.
