Our favorite quirky California ballot initiatives passed, and voters in the state said no to a parental notification law for minors seeking abortions. Colorado and North Dakota both rejected draconian abortion bans, a major victory for common sense and compassion. Stem cell research and medical marijuana are now legal in Michigan. Missouri voters supported an initiative to to require the state to produce 15 percent of its electricity from clean energy by 2021. An unexpected labor/business coalition on Colorado successfully defeated "right to work" there. --Dana Goldstein
