I have an article up at The Prospect comparing Obama's choice of Tom Daschle and Jeanne Lambrew as his health care team to Bill Clinton's decision to elevate Hillary Clinton and Ira Magaziner. In 1994, personnel was destiny for the Clinton effort, and the plan's fatal flaws were predictable from the moment its architects were named. In 2008, we can expect that personnel will again prove destiny, but this time, the destiny is likely to be quite different.
