I've subscribed to The National Review online for awhile because I figure it important to keep up on conservative commentary. But my pass is running out, and I'm shocked at how annoying/condescending their exhortations are:
Dear NR Digital Subscriber,As that annoying guy on the commercial says, "Can you hear me now?"I trust you can hear me now, because you didn't hear me the first time. And while I hope I am not annoying, I fear that you will be - annoyed, that is - if you let your subscription to National Review/Digital expire. Which, according to our records, is set to happen soon. Now you know that I know that you don't want to risk such a terrible outcome. What with everything going on - the battles of W's second term, the rise of 2008 wannabes, the relentless war against terrorism, the tense Iraq situation, the major fights over Supreme Court nominations and other key appointments (and the liberal media's spinning of all that and more) - the last thing you want to happen is to be sans your dependable, reliable, sanity-saving subscription to NR/Digital.If you're intelligent - and you are - you'll do what you must to avoid any gap in your fortnightly fix of bona-fide, authoritative, unmatched conservatism.Seriously?
