According to NBC, the man who shot a security guard and potentially one to two other people at the Holocaust Museum today is 89-year-old James W. Von Brunn. Von Brunn maintains a white-supremacist Web site, HolyWesternEmpire.org. The biography of Von Brunn on the site states that he spent over six years in federal prison for attempting to "place the treasonous Federal Reserve Board of Governors under legal, non-violent, citizens arrest." A World War II veteran and resident of Maryland, Von Brunn is the author of a pamphlet entitled "Kill the Best Gentiles: A new, hard-hitting exposé of the JEW CONSPIRACY to destroy the White gene-pool." He is a Holocaust denier who has written that "Hilter's worse mistake" was that "he didn't gas the Jews." More soon...
Along with Dr. Tiller's murder, this is a reminder, as our own Michelle Goldberg has written, that the Department of Homeland Security was absolutely right to compile its report on homegrown extremism.

James W. von Brunn holds a BachSci Journalism degree from a mid-Western university where he was president of SAE and played varsity football.During WWII he served as PT-Boat captain, Lt. USNR, receiving a Commendation and four battle stars. For twenty years he was an advertising executive and film-producer in New York City. He is a member of Mensa, the high-IQ society.
In 1981 Von Brunn attempted to place the treasonous Federal Reserve Board of Governors under legal, non-violent, citizens arrest. He was tried in a Washington, D.C. Superior Court; convicted by a Negro jury, Jew/Negro attorneys, and sentenced to prison for eleven years by a Jew judge. A Jew/Negro/White Court of Appeals denied his appeal. Update: At TPM, Brian Beutler and Zack Roth report that Von Brunn's 1981 "non-violent" attack on the Fed was anything but: He "pulled out a sawed-off shotgun at the Federal Reserve Boardheadquarters, claiming to have planted a bomb and threatening to takemembers of the Board hostage."
