Huckabee's speech is decidedly more centrist than anything he's been saying on the campaign trail thus far. Most notably, only one mention of "God," "Jesus," or anyone of the holy ilk, and a passing jab at Bush as he pledges "to give this world a better leader." Also notable: not a single specific statement about policy in his speech, a sharp contrast from the speeches of the Democrats tonight. He's heavy on the vague assurances of a better tomorrow, but light on any of the policy proposals he's made so far in the campaign -- as, just to name a few examples, his immigration and tax proposals are decidedly uncentrist. Clearly Huckabee is already banking on taking it all home in the primaries.
