- The vast majority of voters -- 77 percent -- claimed race was not important to them. (Ninety-six percent of the electorate was white.) But of the 22 percent who said race was important, 81 percent chose Hillary Clinton and just 13 percent chose Barack Obama. That means about 17 percent of the electorate was made up of voters who do no want to vote for a black candidate because of his race -- and who'll admit it to a pollster.
- If the general election is between Obama and John McCain, 51 percent of West Virginia Democratic primary voters -- including Independents -- would choose Obama, 29 percent would choose McCain, and 18 percent would not vote at all.
- Clinton won 70 percent of female voters, but only 57 percent of men.
- Voters aren't sick of the campaign; 70 percent believe Clinton should stay in the race, and less than a quarter want the primary over ASAP.
- Mike Huckabee won 10 percent of the GOP vote last night, and Ron Paul won 5 percent.
