Hi, all. Pleasure to be here, and allow me to introduce myself. My name is Silvana Naguib, and I'm a lawyer who lives in Washington. For the last three years, I have blogged sporadically--but with great vigor!--at the feminist group blog Bitch, Ph.D., under the pseudonym "M. LeBlanc." Lest there be any confusion, I do not have a PhD -- just a JD. My lawyering focuses on prisoner civil rights, disability rights, mental health care, and domestic violence. My writing focuses on feminism, popular culture, and human rights.
In addition to blogging at my regular Internet-home, I have also guest-blogged for national-security blogger Spencer Ackerman and, more recently, at the feminist pop-culture blog Tiger Beatdown.
I originally hail from Cairo, Egypt, an upbringing to which I attribute my great love of felafel and my outrage toward hyper-authoritarian governments.
