I'm here at the Values Voters Summit, which is pallid affair compared to last year, when the supporters of Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney were locked in a pitched battle to put their guy at the top of the straw poll, rumors of a Dobson mutiny to a third party rumbled beneath the surface, and John McCain -- well, he was competing with Fred Thompson to deliver the speech most likely to put the audience to sleep.
There is one striking similarity to last year. McCain, who finished last in the 2007 straw poll, is still invisible. I have yet to see anyone wearing McCain-Palin paraphernalia. But "Palin Power" and "I Heart Palin" stickers and buttons abound.
