Via Nick Beaudrot, this new ad from John Edwards is probably my favorite of the campaign. I could do without the slightly creepy still image at the end, but the rest of it matches our problems to their human cost, speaks with an arresting moral urgency, and frames the debate around a conversation liberals definitely want to have -- "is this the sort of country we want to live in?" If you ran a campaign composed of spots like this one, you might do more than simply win an election. You might build a mandate for change.
Via Petey, it's also worth watching the video of Edwards' first encounter with James Lowe. Make sure to get to the 1:25 mark -- the way Edwards mixes his recognition of the man's decency and self-respect with an argument that "you deserves better" was, to me, very powerful.
