Via Mistermix, Alaska Senate candidate Joe Miller is learning the virtues of a strong federal government when it comes to securing constitutional rights:
As a candidate, one of Miller's central messages was that the federal government has overreached into areas that should be run by the states, whether that was Social Security, health care, education or resource protection. Now the state says it is Miller who is overreaching by asking a federal court to interfere in what should be an Alaska affair.
It's all tyranny until the state government treads on you. In all seriousness, though, Rick Hasen says Miller's 14th Amendment claim has a point. As more of the write-in ballots are counted, a Miller win seems more unlikely, and you can pretty much tell by the fact that his campaign is now making vague unsubstantiated claims about "voter fraud."
