- The big news today is the New York Times piece on John McCain's special interest in a certain lobbyist. While there's no evidence of sex, the real story is that he wrote several letters for a lobbyist he seems to have had a personal relationship with. The Washington Post has a much simpler story on the same topic. Not a huge story, but potentially embarrassing for a politician with McCain's holier-than-thou image. The McCain camp denies that there was any relationship besides a legitimate lobbyist-politician one (to the extent that you can call that legitimate) or that the lobbyist was asked to stay away from the campaign. McCain adviser John Weaver who was quoted in both stories has a slightly different story.
- The real McCain scandal of the day is how he has attempted, and will probably succeed, at doing an end-run around the campaign finance system and is now basically lying about it.
- Obama wins the Democrats Abroad primary.
- The Change to Win coalition of unions endorses Obama in a primarily symbolic way.
- Congressional Quarterly looks into Clinton's 35 yeas of experience claim.
- Fundraising numbers are in.
- Some young Clinton supporters (yes they do exist) put up a pretty spiffy website where people can put up testimonials about why they support her.
- Finally, just for fun, I'm apparently way behind on the "blank is your new bicycle memes." Also, this probama song is pretty cute and catchy.
