- Incoherent weekend protests roundup: The Washington Post remains remarkably consistent in it coverage of mass protests over the years; Jonathan Martin points out the obvious; moderate conservative voices are barely audible through the din; should Democrats ignore or engage with the protesters; and crowd estimates ain't what they used to be.
- I don't put a lot of stock in health-care polling because it seems impossible to identify any real trends, and the results usually explain more about how confused the public is on the issue in the first place. For what it's worth, both Rasmussen and a new Washington Post-ABC News poll show some reversal of the recent slide in Obama's handling of the issue.
- If Barack Obama really were a socialist, wouldn't he have a more prominent working relationship with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who actually is a self-described socialist? Being that these days the term "socialism" is thrown around primarily as a sloppy way of referring to vague notions of totalitarianism, it's worth comparing the Vermont Senator's remarks on Wall Street on the anniversary of the collapse of Lehman Brothers with that of the president's.
- Shorter, partially-verbatim The Corner: Unlike all those starry-eyed liberals who have been fooled by this false prophet Obama into thinking that hope and change would come under new leadership, everyone knows the real messiah was St. Ronnie -- the original candidate of hope and change. He would have embraced the Internet!
- Weekend Remainders: If it's Friday, it's time for fairly significant news dump; America's health-care system is so awesome that in some states domestic violence is considered a pre-existing condition; and what's the matter with Texas?
