Update: On the other hand, Fumento is, as Colvin alerts me in comments, a pay-for-play pundit, so maybe he's not so trustworthy. Was mom right?
Update 2: As urged by Fumento in comments, I took a closer look at his story. Apparently, Monsanto paid him $60,000 for a book in 1999, money he didn't disclose in 2005 when writing columns on Biotech in general and Monsanto in particular. So what he did was rather sketchy, but I've not near the information to term it pay-for-play. I apologize for the overstatement and advise readers to exercise some healthy skepticism, which you should all be doing anyway.
