Washington, D.C., is nearly one full month into its newly implemented tax on plastic bags, intended to curb pollution, particularly along the Anacostia River. Many residents are still struggling to adjust, but vendors throughout the city note that plastic bag consumption has fallen by more than half in their restaurants and stores since the law went into effect.
