MAN GOT SKILLZ. Over at The Democratic Strategist, I'm in a roundtable with Whistling Past Dixie author and Tapped contributor Tom Schaller. Even in my role as friendly opposition, I didn't disagree with Tom's thesis, but maybe I didn't give it quite its due. Tonight is going precisely as his argument predicts, with northern consolidation for the Democrats, southern retention for the Republicans, and a bevy of opportunities in the Midwest and Interior West. Moreover, not only does Allen look likely to keep his seat (barely though...), but word is The Washington Post is pulling back on their Cardin call, throwing the technically southern state of Maryland into doubt. Anyway, to see Schaller's crystal ball skills, check out his cover story from this month's In These Times. And tremble. --Ezra Klein
