You know, maybe we could just ship the whole family over there to pad out the surge. They, after all, seem not only sanguine, but genuinely eager, to aid in the war effort. Particularly as a new GAO report (pdf) reveals that the Department of Defense is opposing the VA's outreach to physically and mentally injured veterans because "the DoD is concerned the VA's efforts may conflict with military retention goals." In other words, getting injured service members into veteran's rehabilitation programs could conflict with the military's desire to send them back to Iraq. Maybe the Kagans could go and these vets could begin their long, arduous, rehabilitation?
