Now this is just absurd. I mean, aside from being stupid and wrong, it's immediately testable, a troublesome quality for stupid, wrong statements. If we truly can end the War on Terror at a time and place of our choosing, why not next Tuesday in a warm, sunny location? And if the president, by his own admission, can end it but refuses, is he really prepared to face the American people with the news that he's simply decided to extend the duration of this war? What's the rationale? Does he thirst for blood? Possess a Conanesque belief that the best thing in life is to crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women? Let's hear it.
