Interesting news out of a new Time poll that breaks the Democrats down by region. The full results aren't available, but Obama and Edwards both appear to have cut into Clinton's lead, with Obama holding her to 2% in the West and Edwards actually leading the field in the Midwest. Given where the actual swing states and pick-up opportunities lie, both those demonstrations of regional appeal matter. The Midwest is full of powerhouse swing states like Ohio and Missouri, while many Democrats see the party's future in the Interior West, where Obama seems to be playing well. Clinton retains a large lead in the Northeast, but then, no Democrat needs worry much about the region's votes.
