On Friday, the new U.S. Commission on Civil Rights voted to suspend printing of its "interim" New Black Panther investigation until Commissioner Michael Yaki, who has yet to be reappointed by Speaker John Boehener, can return to the commission and include his dissent.
In a separate vote, the commission voted to close the investigation, pending the addition of Yaki's rebuttal. So as far as the USCCR is concerned, its role in perpetuating an absurd right wing smear of the Justice Department is just about over. What remains to be seen are the results of the Justice Department's internal investigations, and possibly an investigation initiated by Republicans in Congress.
