The final results in North Carolina are still outstanding, with 85 percent reporting McCain leads Obama by .4 percentage points. There are two counties that haven't been counted, Wilson County and Franklin County. In 2004, Wilson County went for Bush over Kerry by a little more than 2,000 votes. Franklin County went for Bush by similar margins. Both counties however, have a significant portion of African-Americans, 40% in Wilson County and 30% in Franklin County. McCain's margin however, appears to be increasing and it's not clear that even carrying both counties would mean Obama would carry the state.
