Yesterday Barack Obama said that the Sermon on the Mount supported his view that same-sex couples should have the same legal rights as married couples (although they shouldn't be allowed to get married). The right wingers are all over him for it, naturally.
I'm curious: does this help him with the voters he clearly was trying to reach, let's call them, for lack of a better word, the Amy Sullivan/E.J. Dionne Democrats?
