Fun facts from the data hub at Compete, an analytics firm.
- If website traffic equaled votes, Barack Obama would be the Democratic nominee. And the next president.
- When interest in the 2008 race is measured by per capita visits to political blogs and candidates' websites, New Hampshire ranks as the most politically engaged state in the nation, followed by Iowa. South Carolina shows up at number 10, and Nevada, site of the forgotten early primary this year, comes in at 13. Note for all the coastal snobs out there (myself included) -- California and New York rank numbers 39 and 40 for Internet political engagement.
- Mitt Romney is the Republican with the most online supporters. Fred Thompson comes in second place.
