This Telegraph article where unnamed associates of Bill Clinton say the former president is demanding Obama "kiss my ass" is getting a lot of attention. It may be true, or it may not. Either way, some blind quotes in a British paper don't quite seem like irrefutable evidence. But the basic dynamics of the situation are pretty clear. Obama has won the nomination. And he did it over Clinton's intense opposition, by beating Clinton's political machine, and by outcampaigning both Clinton and his wife. At the end of the day, what's at stake in the Obama-Clinton relationship is Clinton's relevance, not Obama's. And when it comes down to it, Clinton wants to remain relevant. So he'll be on the stage with Obama soon enough.
