THE MOST POWERFUL PEOPLE IN DC. GQ asked top think tankers, congressional aides, and political journalists to name the 50 most powerful people in Washington DC. Coming it at number 6, right behind Condoleeza Rice, Harry Reid, Robert Gates, Anthony Kennedy, and Nancy Pelosi, is Howard Kohr, executive director of AIPAC. That puts him ahead of Hillary Clinton (#8), Cheney's chief of staff David Addington (#7), Mitch McConnell (#11), and a host of others. It seems like a joke, but AIPAC routinely ranks at the top of the list whenever insiders are polled on influence. It's remarkable. --Ezra Klein
