Obama's speech began with a gracious tribute to Hillary, who he said has "broken barriers and changed the world that my daughters, and all of our daughters, will grow up in." Then he pivoted to an intense attack on McCain. He hit on lobbyists, on Iraq, on social policy, and wrapped all of it in the question of change. "Whether McCain's policies represent long-standing conviction or Washington calculation is for others to decide," he said. "But they don't represent change." And that was the nice part. This election, Obama stated,"is a choice between the past and the future." Tonight, the general election began.
