Here are some strong Christian values to brighten your afternoon: Phil Burress, the Ohio anti-gay and anti-porn activist at the helm of Citizens for Community Values has issued the word on from high: John McCain is A-OK, and Barack Obama is a "borderline idiot."
Burress was formerly a McCain naysayer. But after meeting with him in Ohio last weekend, he wrote colleagues:
Yesterday, though, I saw and listened to a man who likewise is principled. John McCain, unlike most politicians, will not be bullied, threatened, paid off or pressured into changing his position. That was refreshing. I was once one of those people who said "no way" to Senator John McCain as President. No longer. The stakes are too high. And if Obama wins I need to able to get up on November 5th, look at myself in the mirror, and when I pray, say, "Lord, I did all that I could."
Meanwhile, in Colorado Springs, Obama's campaign has reportedly been talking to Focus on the Family about a meeting between the candidate and James Dobson. What benefit this could offer Obama is hard to fathom, unless, of course, he wants to give Dobson a SpongeBob SquarePants DVD or his own copy of King and King, autographed by the first same-sex couple married in California.
