Romney's actually a pretty strange speaker. The halts. In his oratory. Come at totally random. Points. It's as if he can't quite take a deep enough breath to get out his thought. And his voice trills at the end of each sentence, making the whole thing sound like a stream of rhetorical questions. And because he pauses so often and randomly, it's never clear which moments are supposed to be profound, and which are just the Romney-bot forwarding to the next track. Meanwhile, even as Romney protests that his Mormonism shouldn't matter, CNN has a sidebar taking up 40 percent of the screen showing "the history of Mormon religion." So far, I've learned about polygamy, the racism of the Mormon church, and Joseph Smith's revelation. --Ezra Klein
