Liberals, minorities, and women have even less reason to trust Barack Obama today, as his latest round of appointments is just one slap in the face after another.Obama is filling his center-right Cabinet with more nixonian cronies than you can wag two fingers at while heading into a plane and shouting "I am not a crook."
They include Nobel Prize winner in physics Steven Chu to head the Department of Energy (Brian Beutler explains why this is a slap in the face here), former New Jersey EPA commissioner Lisa Jackson to head the Environmental Protection Agency, Los Angeles Deputy Mayor Nancy Sutley to head the White House Council on Environmental Quality, and former Clinton EPA head Carol Browner as "energy czar," a newly created position, which will eventually not be referred to as energy czar.
Needless to say, liberals just won an election and it's a SLAP IN THE FACE to watch all these positions go to right-wing hacks and bloodless neoconservatives, and it's more proof that Barack Obama didn't mean it when he said he loved me in that third debate with John McCain. What? he said it. You all saw it, right?
