Eliot Spitzer just made a public statement on the reports that he's been linked to a prostitution ring, admitting his involvement and apologizing to his constituents. With his wife standing by his side, he apologized to his family and noted his commitment to regaining the public trust. "I disappointed and failed to live up to the standard I expected of myself," said Spitzer. He did not take questions, nor did he resign, as some networks reported he would. Of course, we can expect this will be ongoing story much chewed over in the press. Updates to come as needed.
