SWAMP-TIME. Actually, Sam, the single best piece I've read lately on how blogs and blogswarms are changing the media was Gary Kamiya's fresh, well-reported, and nuanced piece, "The Readers Strike Back" in Salon last month. Instead of neatly fitting everything into an ideological narrative -- blogs good, MSM bad -- he sussed out the good and the bad of how the revolution in reader feedback is changing how people -- and not just journalists -- write, and calling into question what it is we think we are doing when we commit words to print. Totally worth a read.
