Stephen Hayes writes very misleading, very bad things on national security, but his retelling of Fred Thompson's key, pre-campaign conference call has a few nuggets of interest. I particularly love the strategy wherein donors are lined up for weeks, but all donate on the first day, in order to give the candidate a big bounce for his first day haul.
