It really is difficult to wrap one's head around the lumbering stupidity of Erick Erickson, reacting to Michael Calderone's story about an e-mail listserv frequented by liberal wonks, journalists, and plain old MSM folks:
I'm told such luminaries as David Shuster at MSNBC, Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, a host of New York Times magazine writers, Frank Rich, and others all collaborate on this list.
There are several prominent people Calderone lists in the story, Mike Allen, Ben Smith, Eric Alterman, Paul Krugman. But as Ezra points out, Erickson managed to name four people who aren't on the list at all, in the midst of complaining how the mainstream media won't hire conservative bloggers.
I can't speak to why or whether the press won't hire conservative bloggers, but it's pretty clear why they won't hire Erickson. Faced with a perfectly good set of facts, he opts to just make something up.
