The television news cameras are following Eliot Spitzer's journey to his Manhattan office where he's supposed to announce his resignation shortly. Of course, there's some justifiable outrage about the hypocrisy of his involvement in a prostitution ring, since he was known for busting up prostitution rings. But my biggest soft spot for Spitzer was always his aggressive prosecution of polluters. And here he is journeying to the press conference in a giant SUV. Sigh. Eliot, we thought we knew you.
