David Michaels is a professor at The George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health. He served as assistant secretary of labor for OSHA from 2009 to 2017 and assistant secretary of energy for environment, safety, and health from 1998 to 2001. His book on worker safety and its lack of regulation will be published by University of Chicago Press next year.
