I don't really think it's right for Jelani Cobb to be giving anyone else lawn jockey awards when Jesse Lee Peterson is still around. Here he is explaining that "I think we all agree that Barack Obama was elected "mostly by black racists and white guilty people." Cue Sean Hannity, in faux disbelief, "do you really think that 96% of black America is racist?" as though jewels like these aren't the reason Peterson gets invited on the show in the first place. Also, Hannity happens to be on the board of directors of Peterson's organization, a conflict of interest that I'm assuming isn't revealed to the audience.
You remember Peterson, he was all over Fox News last year claiming that Nikki Tinker would crush Steve Cohen in Tennessee's mostly black ninth congressional district because "most blacks are so racist." Cohen won that contest by sixty points.
Also, Peterson's opinion of Obama is somewhat predictable. Citing Hurricane Katrina, he once said "if whites were to just leave the United States and let blacks run the country, they would turn America into a ghetto within ten years."
My favorite part of the clip is at the end, when one of the guests says, "I don't know what this has to do with tax issues." That's some committed shuffling.
