The question here -- about foreign students attending schools for 13 more days per year than American students -- is inane, but the candidates are doing their best to use it as a jumping off point to talk substantively about education. Hillary and Edwards both give a plug to early childhood education, while Edwards is quite right here to revise his "two Americas" line in describing our education system, one for the affluent, and one for the poor. Biden suggests making four years of education beyond high school mandatory. -Dana Goldstein
